Out with the old, in with the new. M.I.A. is saying goodbye to Roc Nation in 2013.

The “Paper Planes” hitmaker has parted ways with Jay Z’s company, which has been managing her since May 2012.

She made the announcement on Twitter. “2013 i dlted old tweet to bring u this. im leaving @RocNation,” tweeted M.I.A. “Thank to everyone who supported the M.I.A #MATANGI LP. HAPPY NEW YEAR | 2014.”

In November, she released her fourth album Matangi, which was ranked as the 10th best album of the year by TIME magazine.

Roc Nation is home to stars including Rihanna, Shakira, Wale, Meek Mill, and Kylie Minogue.

Jay Z and Beyoncé’s vegan days are over. The couple has officially completed their 22-day vegan challenge.

Jay Z announced his plans to go vegan right before his 44th birthday. As part of the challenge, he and his wife only ate plant-based foods. They were spotted at popular vegan restaurants in L.A. and Chicago during the 22-day challenge, which ended on Christmas Day.

According to E! News, the Carters celebrated the completion of the challenge by dining at Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen in Norcross, Ga., over the weekend.

They also traveled to Miami, where they once again dined on seafood. According to Page Six, they were spotted at Seasalt and Pepper on Sunday. According to the bistro’s chef Alfredo Alvarez, they ordered pappardelle, lobster risotto, and seafood casserole.

While there, they met up with Gloria Estefan and her family. “Ran into the incredible @Beyonce & @Jay-Z post Dolphin game @ Sea Salt on the Miami River, sweet, Em was catatonic!” tweeted the singer.

Jay Z will resume his “Magna Carter World Tour” on January 2, while Bey has some time off before heading to Europe in February for the next leg of her “Mrs. Carter Show” tour.

Eve is headed down the aisle. The rapper-actress is engaged to British designer and Gumball 3000 founder Maximillion Cooper.

Cooper, 41, proposed to Eve, 35, on Christmas Day, Eve’s rep confirmed to E! News.

The Lip Lock rapper prompted rumors after posting a picture with her mother and brother, while wearing a flashy ring. After fans started speculating that she was engaged, she responded with heart emojis.

“Thanku 2 everybody 4 your congratulations on our engagement!” tweeted Eve, who has not set a wedding date. “We wanted to celebrate with our family and friends 1st b4 announcing.”

Her family joined her in the English countryside to celebrate the good news. “Feel so #blessed to be with my family and sharing my life here,” she said.

Eve’s fiancé posted pics from their Christmas in Edinburgh, Scotland together. “My lil’ #scottish #Eve in #edinburgh #boxingday #mulledcider #happyholidays,” tweeted Cooper.

The couple, who divides their time between the U.S. and London, has been dating since at least 2011.

This will be the first marriage for Eve. Cooper, founder of the international motor rally Gumball 3000, has four children from a previous marriage.

Suspect Arrested in Doe B Murder

A suspect has been arrested following the tragic death of Hustle Gang rapper Doe B over the weekend.

According to the Montgomery Advertiser , police arrested a Montgomery man in Saturday’s fatal shooting of the 22-year-old MC, born Glenn Thomas, and 21-year-old Kimberle Johnson, a student at Troy University.

Montgomery police charged Jason McWilliams, 25, with two counts of capital murder following the shooting at Centennial Hill Bar and Grill (formerly Rose Supper Club). The suspect turned himself in late Sunday night, according to police.

Montgomery Police Department detectives determined that the shooting was the result of an ongoing dispute between McWilliams and Thomas. Doe B’s close associates told REVOLT that the two had a history and jealousy played a major role in the rapper’s death.

Hours after the shooting, McWilliams posted the following message on his Facebook page:

“FIRST OFF DON’T CALL MY NAME I AIN’T KILLED THA NIGGA ME N MY TEAM BOUT MONEY HATE ON A NIGGA WILL NEVA B MY MOVE BUT ITS OKAY MY NAME GET CALLED N A LOT OF SHIT ME N MY NIGGAS NOT CRASHDUMMYS WE CASHDUMMYS, BUT ONE MO THING BILLS STILL GOTTA B PAID N KIDS GOTTA B FEED ……..GOODDAY FACEBOOK JANIYA N QUEL GOTTA EAT. ……SOUTHGANG STANDUP GUY.”

Six others were injured during the shooting at the nightclub, which has a history of violence. In December 2012, six people were injured in a shooting at the same location.

The hip-hop community mourned the loss of Doe B. “He was just getting started…. The future was so bright,” tweeted his manager DJ Frank White, while his mentor T.I. added, “RIP to my lil brother Doe B. We gon miss u my nigga. U’ll never be forgotten & U WILL NOT DIE IN VAIN.”

A candlelight vigil was held at the Centennial on Sunday night. Johnson and Thomas were the city’s 47th and 48th homicide victims of 2013. In light of the tragedy, Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange has decided to close the Centennial.

Police have arrested Jason McWilliams, 25, in the murders of Doe B and Kimberle Johnson.

Beyoncé Flaunts Her Sexuality in Part 4 of ‘Self-Titled’ Documentary

With her self-titled album closing in on platinum in the U.S., Beyoncé continues to explain the artistic vision behind the project in Part 4 of her “Self-Titled” documentary entitled “Liberation.”

During the summer of 2012, she moved some of music’s top writers and producers including The-Dream, Hit-Boy, Shea Taylor, and Sia into a house in the Hamptons. Jay Z held down dad duties as Bey went into the recording booth for a few hours each day.

“I was breast feeding, cornrows in my hair because I was spending so much time being a mother,” she said. “Recording this album was such an outlet for me to kinda escape and create whatever world and fantasy that definitely at the time was not happening.”

She explained how the sexual track “Partition” came together. “It takes me back to when me and my husband first meet and he’s trying to scoop me and he thinks I’m the hottest thing in the world,” said Bey. “I kinda had this whole fantasy of being in the car and this whole movie played in my head.”

She added, “I was so embarrassed after I recorded the song because I’m just talking shit. I’m like, I can’t play this for my husband. I still haven’t played it for my mom. She’s gonna be very mad at me.”

The “Partition” video was inspired by her trip to Crazy Horse Parisian cabaret on the day she got engaged to Jay Z. “I just thought it was the ultimate sexy show I’ve ever seen, and I was like, ‘I wish I was up there. I wish I could perform that for my man.’ So that’s what I did for the video.”

She weighed 195 pounds when she gave birth and lost 65 pounds. “I worked crazily to get my body back. I wanted to show my body!” said Blue Ivy’s mom. “I wanted to show that you can have a child and you can work hard, and you can get your body back.”

She was proud to flaunt her sexuality and show other mothers that they too can be sexy after giving birth. “I don’t have any shame at all about being sexual,” explained Bey. “I’m not embarrassed about it and I don’t feel like I have to protect that side of me because I do believe that sexuality is a power that we all have.”

Jenny is going back to the block. The pop diva returned to her roots while shooting a video for her new single “Same Girl” over the weekend in her old neighborhood in the Bronx, New York.

In the clip, directed by Gomillion & Leupold (Fantasia, Tamar Braxton), J.Lo plays an around-the-way girl, sporting a Yankees cap, torn jeans, and hooded jacket as she hangs with her all-female crew.

The song was reportedly produced in collaboration with Chris Brown. The two hit the studio in March to work on J.Lo’s upcoming 10th album.

In addition to Chris, she has collaborated with Future, Big Sean, Robin Thicke, Sia, and RedOne on the follow-up to 2011’s LOVE?

“It’s Jennifer Lopez, she’s done it all. From dance to urban records, so that’s what we’re doing,” said RedOne, who signed Lopez to his 2101 Records/Capitol Records imprint and is executive producing the project. “We’re doing an album that has everything. The Dogg is in the House. Following the Grammy nomination for his reggae album Reincarnated, Snoop and his family were invited to the White House for the 36th Annual Kennedy Center Honors earlier this month.

A tuxedo-clad Snoop, along with his wife Shante Broadus and daughter Cori B., met President Obama off-camera and shared a laugh and a fist bump with Secretary of State John Kerry.

“They done let me up in here, dawg, and I got my wife and my daughter,” said Snoop in the iPhone-filmed footage. “We at the White House doing it big. Now what?”

It was a full circle moment for Snoop. In his Reincarnated film, he says, “I’m never able to perform in situations where I’d love to because I don’t have those kinds of songs. My songs are too hard. I know Obama wants me to come to the White House, but what can I perform?”

Not only did he visit the White House, he also performed a live tribute to Herbie Hancock during the Kennedy Center Honors, which will air tonight on CBS.

Hustle Gang Rapper Doe B Shot and Killed

The hip-hop community is mourning the loss of one of its rising stars. Hustle Gang rapper Doe B was shot and killed in Alabama on Saturday.

The Montgomery, Alabama native, born Glenn Thomas, was reportedly killed in a fatal shooting that occurred at Centennial Hill Bar and Grill (formerly Rose Supper Club) in his hometown in the early hours of December 28, according to various tweets.

His Hustle Gang boss T.I. shared the sad news on Instagram. “RIP to my lil brother Doe B,” wrote Tip. “We gon miss u my nigga. U’ll never be forgotten & U WILL NOT DIE IN VAIN. We Love U champ. Always. Just rest now my nigga….WE GOT IT From here.”

A rep from Doe B’s management confirmed his death, tweeting, “On behalf of doe b’s management i would like to thank all of his fans and say Rest in Peace my brother Glenn thomas aka @CBMDOEB.”

His manager, DJ Frank White, vowed to put an end to the senseless violence. “I will do everything i can to see the rose never open. How many people gotta be fuckin killed. ??? Yall let guns in the club??” he wrote.

His peers including Drake, Soulja Boy, Trae Tha Truth, Machine Gun Kelly, and Meek Mill took to social media to express their sympathy.

“RIP Doe B,” tweeted Drake, while MGK added, “Damn. RIP Doe B. this rap shits crazy right now. Condolences to his family. Clubs keep lettin guns in the club as if that’s not where we as artists work. We got families to go home to, fuck is wrong with y’all.”

The rapper, who was previously shot in the eye three years ago, was building buzz following the release of his latest mixtape Baby Je$us over the summer.

Beyoncé Remains No. 1 for Second Week

Beyoncé had the best Christmas ever. The superstar’s self-titled album remains No. 1 for a second week on the Billboard 200.

BEYONCÉ sold an additional 374,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan. The visual album, which features 14 songs and 17 videos, previously debuted at No. 1 with 617,000 after only three days on sale.

In its first 10 days alone, the album has sold 991,000 copies and is the 12th biggest-selling album of 2013. However, there is one more sales week left in the year and its likely that BEYONCÉ will finish in the top 10 and go platinum.

Prior to Christmas, physical copies arrived in stores including Walmart and Best Buy, but digital sales still trumped the physical release. Of the 374,000 copies sold, 235,000 were downloads (63%).

Elsewhere on the chart, Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP 2 rises two spots to No. 6 (115,000), thanks in part to his Rihanna-assisted single “The Monster,” which is No. 3 on the Digital Songs chart.

B.o.B’s third album Underground Luxury enters at No. 22 with 35,000. His previous album, 2012′s Strange Clouds, debuted at No. 5 with 76,000.

Video: Miley Cyrus – ‘Adore You’

Miley Cyrus fans get to open their Christmas present a day early. The pop superstar’s video for “Adore You” has surfaced online, hours before its scheduled VEVO premiere.

In the voyeuristic clip, the 21-year-old singer films herself on a camcorder as she rolls in the sheets, wearing only a bra and panties. In another scene, a soaking-wet Miley sits in a bathtub as waters drips down her body.

The ballad, written and produced by Stacy Barthe and Oren Yoel, is the third single off Miley’s chart-topping album Bangerz.

She addressed the leak on Twitter, writing, “We all know Smilers would break another record if it wasn’t for the fuck face who leaked my video. Alllllll good! Keep smiling.”

Chris Brown is taking you higher this holiday season with his smokers’ soundtrack. On the Drumma Boy-produced “Wildcat,” Breezy professes his love for Mary Jane, while sharing his freaky plans.

“I’ma break you down, baby/ Lick you like a swisher,” he sings.

Just last week, he released two versions of his new single “Loyal,” one which features Lil Wayne and Too $hort and the other with Weezy and French Montana. His oft-delayed album X is scheduled for release next year.

Justin Bieber: ‘I’m Officially Retiring’

Is Justin Bieber calling it quits? The pop singer dropped a Christmas bombshell on his fans when he said that he was retiring.

He delivered the surprise announcement to his Beliebers on Christmas Eve.

“My beloved beliebers I’m officially retiring,” tweeted the 19-year-old singer.

But he followed it up with two more tweets that may suggest otherwise. “The media talks a lot about me. They make a up a lot of lies and want me to fail but I’m never leaving you, being a belieber is a lifestyle,” he said.

“Be kind loving to each other, forgive each other as god forgave us through Christ Merry Christmas IM HERE FOREVER.”

In an interview with Power 106 last week, he joked about retiring. “I think I’m probably gonna quit music,” he said, later adding, “No, I’m just messin’ around.”

His manager Scooter Braun recently said that he wants Bieber to take a year off before releasing his next album.

“I’m telling him after this movie, I want him to take next year off and just take a break,” Braun told Ryan Seacrest. “He can still live in the studio and work on the next album, which is what he wants to do, but I just want him to take some time to himself, so he can have that time alone cause he’s been working since he was 12 years old.”

The timing is no coincidence considering his movie, Believe, hit theaters on Christmas Day, while his album Journals is No. 2 on iTunes.
