Justin Timberlake can officially celebrate. The pop superstar makes a huge comeback on the charts with his new album The 20/20 Experience, which sold nearly a million copies in its first week.
The 10-track set debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with final sales of 968,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
It marks his second No. 1 album and best sales week of his solo career. His previous project, 2006’s FutureSex/LoveSounds, debuted at No. 1 with 684,000, while his debut, 2002’s Justified, entered at No. 2 with 439,000.
According to Billboard, the album also makes history as the 19th-largest sales week for an album since SoundScan started tracking data in 1991. The all-time record is held by Timberlake’s former group, ‘N Sync, whose album No Strings Attached debuted at No. 1 with 2.42 million in 2000.
20/20 scores the biggest sales week since Taylor Swift’s Red, which moved 1.2 million units in November 2012. Among male artists, Timberlake has the largest week in nearly five years, trailing Lil Wayne’s 2008 album Tha Carter III (1.01 million).
A 10-track follow-up to The 20/20 Experience is due later this year.
