French Montana Makes Top 5 Chart Debut

From the streets of the Bronx to the top of the Billboard charts. French Montana makes his debut on the Billboard 200 this week at No. 4.



The Bad Boy rapper’s album Excuse My French sold 56,000 copies in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan. He also lands atop the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Rap Albums charts.


The album, which was executive produced by Diddy and Rick Ross, spawned the hit singles “Pop That” and “Freaks,” and boasts appearances from The Weeknd, Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Lil Wayne.


The No. 1 spot goes to Daft Punk, whose album Random Access Memories sold 339,000 copies, marking the second-largest sales week of the year following Justin Timberlake’s The 20/20 Experience.


Elsewhere, the Jay-Z-produced soundtrack to The Great Gatsby falls 4-5 with 54,000.
