The year of Pharrell continues. After scoring an Oscar nomination and four Grammys including Producer of the Year, the “Happy” hitmaker has announced a title and release date for his second solo album.
G I R L, his first project since 2006′s In My Mind, will arrive on March 3 via Back Lot Music/Columbia Records.
The 10 tracks are now available for pre-order on iTunes featuring the first single “Happy,” which is currently No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. The upbeat hit also appears on the soundtrack to the animated film Despicable Me 2.
Pharrell revealed the cover art and posted a 30-second trailer of him in the studio, laughing, crying, and recording with composer Hans Zimmer and an orchestra.
On the eve of his album release, he will perform his Oscar-nominated hit at the Academy Awards. He will also tour with Bruno Mars on select dates this spring/summer and play Coachella in April.
