Lil Wayne has revealed the cover art for his fifth and final solo album Tha Carter V. While there was debate about its authenticity, Wayne’s Facebook page and YoungMoney.com have confirmed that this is indeed the official cover.
Kobe Bryant was first to unveil the artwork on Twitter and Instagram. “Carter V season begins #carterV,” tweeted the Lakers star.
Wayne reposted the image on Twitter, writing, “Believe me.”
While previous Carter covers have featured photos of Wayne as a child, Tha Carter V artwork is simpler and includes a large roman numeral “V” with “Tha Carter V” written around it in red.
C5 was originally due May 5, but no longer has an official release date. Wayne has been in the studio with Drake and most recently Mannie Fresh.
“I’m approaching it like it is my last project and I think that’s why it’s a lot different than everything else,” said Weezy. “I’m approaching it as if you don’t have tomorrow.”
