Eminem and Spike Lee Get Heartfelt in ‘Headlights’ Video

Eminem and Spike Lee

Eminem is set to premiere the video for his latest single “Headlights” on Mother’s Day. Before its debut, Em and director Spike Lee sit down for a brief interview teasing their cinematic collaboration, which was shot on 8 Mile in Eminem’s hometown of Detroit last month.

“I really love the narrative for what we’ve come up together for ‘Headlights,’” said Spike, who’s directed iconic videos for Michael Jackson, Prince, and Public Enemy.

“It’s a great, great story. It’s heartfelt, some pain in it, but that’s life. So that’s why we’re here, back in the ‘hood, 8 Mile Detroit, shooting where all this took place.”

The Nate Ruess-assisted song, on which Em apologizes to his mother Debbie Mathers following their tumultuous past, appears on The Marshall Mathers LP 2.
