It’s been nearly five years since Ameriie released her last album In Love & War. But the D.C. singer is ready to return to the spotlight. She took to Instagram on Thursday to preview a new song called “What I Want.”
The 15-second snippet features a go-go sound that will remind you of her 2005 Rich Harrison-produced hit “1 Thing.”
“That’s what I want, yeah, that’s what I want,” sings A over the funky percussion.
The last we heard from Ameriie was in March 2012 when she released the Focus-produced “Every Time.” She was working on an album called Cymatika, Vol. 1 , but it never saw the light of day.
