Ed Sheeran

X marks the No. 1 spot. Ed Sheeran tops the U.K. and U.S. charts this week with his sophomore album.

The project, which features the Pharrell-produced single “SING,” sold 210,000 copies in its first week, the largest debut for a pop album this year and the fourth-biggest opening overall in 2014.

In addition to becoming his first No. 1 on the Billboard 200, it bests the sales of his 2012 debut +, which entered at No. 5 with 42,000.

Oakland rapper G-Eazy opens at No. 3 with These Things Happen (46,000), and earns the No. 1 spot on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, Rap Albums, and Independent Albums charts.

These Things Happen also becomes the second-largest debut for an independently distributed rap album this year following 50 Cent’s Animal Ambition (47,000).

TDE’s Ab-Soul comes in at No. 11, selling just under 22,000 copies of his independent album These Days…

Outside the top 10, Riff Raff lands at No. 22 with his Mad Decent debut Neon Icon (12,000).
