Frank Ocean Hires New Management

Frank Ocean

Frank Ocean has been quietly recording his new album, but first he’s making some changes behind the scenes. The R&B crooner has hired new management.

According to Billboard, Ocean has signed with Three Six Zero, who manages Calvin Harris, Deadmau5, and Kate Nash.

“Frank is an incredibly intelligent and creatively brilliant individual,” said Mark Gillespie, co-founder of Three Six Zero Group. “We’re proud that he felt Three Six Zero was the right home for him.”

In June, he parted ways with Christian and Kelly Clancy of 4 Strikes Management as well as publicity firm Life or Death PR. Before signing with Three Six, he met with Guy Oseary (U2, Madonna) and Ron Laffitte (Pharrell Williams, Alicia Keys).

Ocean has enlisted Hit-Boy and Rodney Jerkins for the follow-up to 2012′s channel ORANGE, along with frequent collaborators Happy Perez, Charlie Gambetta, and Kevin Ristro.

Not much else is known about the album (including a release date), but director Nabil Elderkin said earlier this year that it “blows the sophomore-album myth out of the water.”
