While he readies his sophomore album, Kendrick Lamar has been showing his versatility with features for Jasmine V and SZA. For his latest guest spot, TDE’s golden child joins L.A. producer Flying Lotus on “Never Catch Me.” K-Dot delivers an out-of-body verse over the experimental production.
The collaboration has been years in the making. “He came through the crib and recorded it and it was great,” Flying Lotus told Rolling Stone . “The funny part is, though, that he wanted to keep that shit for his album. When I first sent him the track, he was trying to convince me to give it to him. Like, ‘Nah, man, I need that!’”
Look for the jazzy record on Flying Lotus’ fifth album You’re Dead!, due October 7.
