Fergie Taps will.i.am, Rae Sremmurd for New Album

Fergie

Fergie returned from her hiatus this week with her first single “L.A.LOVE (la la),” and is assembling a team of hitmakers for her upcoming 2015 album.

During an interview with “Big Boy’s Neighborhood” on Power 106, the Black Eyed Peas frontwoman revealed that she has been in the studio with Mike WiLL Made-It and “No Flex Zone” duo Rae Sremmurd.

Additionally, she has reunited with her fellow Pea will.i.am, who produced the hits “Fergalicious,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” and “Clumsy” for her debut The Dutchess.

“My style is just gonna evolve with the music that I’m listening to, what I’m inspired by, mixed with all the old stuff that I’m inspired by,” she explained. “It’s a fusion. [I want to] bring an international feel to it.”

She called on DJ Mustard for “L.A.LOVE (la la),” which pays homage to her native Los Angeles. “I am a student. I study the evolution of music, from Kendrick to Mustard, L.A. had an explosion. I needed to be a part of it,” said Fergie.

The follow-up to 2006′s The Dutchess has a title, but she is not ready to announce it.

While she’s prepping a solo project, don’t expect a new Black Eyed Peas album anytime soon. Each member has been busy with their own endeavors.

“There’s no plans for an album right now. There’s no breakup. We’re just family.”
