New Music: Beyoncé – ’7/11′ + ‘Ring Off’

7/11

It’s been nearly a year since Beyoncé surprised the world and released her self-titled album. Since then, BEYONCÉ has gone double platinum and spawned several hits. To commemorate the milestone, Bey will release the Platinum Edition Box Set on Monday featuring two new songs, “7/11″ and “Ring Off.”

On the R&B banger “7/11,” produced by Bobby Johnson and Detail, Bey gets to flexin’.

“Smack that, clap that … like you don’t care,” she commands over the rattling bassline.

On the Mike Caren-produced “Ring Off,” Bey sings about a painful breakup, but turns it into a celebration about finding new love (“It’s your time to put your love on top”). Her own mother Tina Knowles, who inspired the song, also shares her words of wisdom.

“You took that ring off / So tired of the lies and trying, crying, fighting / Took that ring off,” sings Bey. “Oh, and now the fun begins / Dust yourself off and you love again / You found a new man, now you shine and you’re fine like it’s my time.”

In addition to the two new tracks, the 2 CD/2 DVD set includes four unreleased remixes featuring Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Pharrell Williams, and Mr. Vegas.

The full songs have leaked, but you can listen to the official 90-second snippets below.
