Now that his long-awaited album Tetsuo & Youth has been greenlit for release, Lupe Fiasco comes through with his new single “Deliver.” On the socially- and politically-charged record, produced by MoeZ’art, the Chicago MC stirs up a dialogue about race using the example of a pizza man who doesn’t deliver to the ‘hood, while Ty Dolla $ign lends his vocals.
“Pizza man don’t come here no more / Too much dope, too many ni**as on the porch, so the pizza man don’t approach,” he raps, while dropping some enlightening bars: “The ghetto is a physical manifestation of hate and a place where ethnicity determines your place.”
In advance of the January 20 release of Tetsuo & Youth, Lupe has been warming up with his viral tracks “Lilies,” “Haile Selassie,” and “Mazinger.”
