Beanie Sigel was shot after an altercation outside a home in Pleasantville, New Jersey on Friday morning.
According to the Press of Atlantic City , the Philadelphia rapper was hit in the torso and transported to the hospital. Police confirmed the victim as Dwight Grant, which is Sigel’s real name.
A man was taken into custody after police chased a car that appeared to be related to the shooting.
Sigel, 40, was taken to the Trauma Unit at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City with a gunshot wound to the torso. He is undergoing surgery and his condition is not immediately unknown.
In August, he was released to a Philadelphia halfway house after serving a two-year sentence in federal prison for tax evasion. He has been on home confinement since September 25.
