New Music: Nicki Minaj – ‘All Things Go’

The Pinkprint

In less than two weeks, Nicki Minaj will release her most personal album yet, The Pinkprint. She lets fans into her world on the opening track “All Things Go,” which is now available for download on iTunes with the pre-order.

On the autobiographical song, produced by Boi-1da, Vinylz, and Alen Ritter and co-written by Ester Dean, Nicki raps about taking her daughter to preschool in seven years, losing her cousin to violence, and being proposed to 10 years ago (“I looked down—yes, I suppose”). She also reveals that she was pregnant with her ex’s baby, but had an abortion.

“My child with Aaron would have been 16 any minute / So in some ways I feel like Caiah is the both of them / It’s like he’s Caiah’s little angel looking over him,” she sings in reference to her younger brother Micaiah.

The Pinkprint also features Beyoncé, Chris Brown, Ariana Grande, Jessie Ware, and Drake and Lil Wayne, who appear on “Only” as well as the bonus track “Truffle Butter.”
