Jazmine Sullivan loses her faith in love in the video for her heartbreak ballad “Forever Don’t Last,” the second single off her first album in four years, Reality Show. In the emotional clip, which she co-directed with her mother and Eshon Burgundy, she dreams of an everlasting relationship like her grandparents (who make cameos), but realizes that the fairytale romance doesn’t happen for everywhere.
As tears roll down her face, she sends her ex a text before burning her white wedding dress and lighting a cigarette. Pastor Anthony and First Lady Tammy Trout’s farm serves as the beautiful backdrop.
Reality Show is due next year featuring production from Salaam Remi, Anthony Bell, and Key Wane. “I’m really proud of it. I worked harder on this album than any album,” she told Rap-Up TV. “The songs are really colorful, just about life in general and reality from my eyes.”
