Pharrell Williams And Robin Thicke Must Pay Millions To Marvin Gaye’s Fam

Jurors took two days to determine Robin Thicke and producer Pharrell violated the rights of the late Marvin Gaye and now must pay $7.4 million.

The copyright case stated that the pair essentially stole the sound of Marvin Gaye's hit song "Got To Give It Up." The proceedings took place in Los Angeles.

T.I., who is also in the suite, was exonerated.

The financial burden broke down as follows: $4 million in damages to the Gaye family, $1.6 million from Pharrell and a little over $1.7 million from Robin Thicke. Another $9,375 were awarded in statuary damages.

Nona Gaye, daughter of Marvin, said "Right now I feel free from Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams' chains. The said the verdict was "a miracle.:"
