Chris Brown may have lost in his category at the Grammys, but he wasn’t feeling sorry for himself. Instead, the R&B superstar gave props to his fellow nominee Miguel and weighed in on the state of music.
During the pre-show, Breezy co-signed Miguel, who he was up against in the category of Best Urban Contemporary Album (Frank Ocean won the award). “I think he’s had a great and wonderful year,” he told Ryan Seacrest on “E! News.” “To be from an R&B-kinda background, he’s taken that and he’s doing his thing.”
Breezy hopes that music is headed in a more authentic direction. “A lot of the music nowadays, I love it, but it’s very gimmicky. Even some of my music is gimmicky,” he laughed. “But I just want to go back to the real music—a lot of instruments, the real band, essence of being able to perform and be an entertainer.”
He also downplayed the car accident that he had over the weekend. “It’s cool, I’m fine. A litte bit of bumps, I’m good though,” said Chris. “The paparazzi tend to get out of hand. It’s all good though.”
