Fresh off his win for Best Male R&B/Pop Artist, the slick singer performed his single “How Many Drinks?” while wearing an open-chested vest made of fur. R. Kelly shut down the BET Awards with a medley of his hits. A choir stormed the aisles before the Pied Piper appeared on stage in a spiked-out leather jacket and hat. Kendrick Lamar missed accepting his award for Best New Artist so he could hit the stage to perform at the BET Awards. He opened with “M.A.A.D. City” and then brought out Erykah Badu to duet on his hit “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe.” The two walked hand-in-hand off stage after their soulful set.

The sun was shining bright and the stars were even brighter at the BET Awards ’13 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday. Some opted for bold fashion (Trinidad James), others kept it elegant (Bridget Kelly), and others just wanted to stay cool (Ne-Yo).

Bridget Kelly has been keeping quiet on details surrounding her debut, but she’s finally ready to share it with the world. Fresh from wrapping the “Liberation” tour with Mary J. Blige, the Roc Nation singer announced the title and release date on the red carpet at the 26th Annual ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards.
“It’s called Something Different and it’s coming out in September,” she told Rap-Up TV.
Following “Street Dreamin” with Kendrick Lamar, she will release her new single “Goosebumps” at the end of August/early September.
“It’s really exciting. I’m pumped to put the album out in September,” said Bridget, who will perform at the ESSENCE Music Festival in New Orleans next weekend.

Miguel will perform across the street at Nokia Theatre at tonight’s BET Awards, where he is nominated four times.

After announcing a new release date for her album, K. Michelle pours up the video for her first single “V.S.O.P.” The “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” star rekindles the romance with an old fame in the Benny Boom-directed clip, which was shot in New York.
She explained the song during her appearance on “106 & Park.” “It’s that old boo thang that you can’t get rid of, just that very special old pal,” said the red-haired songstress. “It’s a feel-good record for the dudes and for the ladies. Pop some bottles, have some fun.”
Her debut Rebellious Soul is due August 13 on Atlantic Records. “It’s an album for the people,” said K.

Azealia Banks unleashed her wild fashion and dance hits during her energetic set at the Glastonbury Festival in England on Saturday. The fashionista rocked a green reptile-esque outfit with spikes and white contact lenses. She opened with her mixtape cuts “Out of Space” and “Neptune” and performed her hit single “212,” closing with “Yung Rapunxel.”
She also debuted a teaser of “ATM Jam” featuring Pharrell, the next single off her upcoming debut Broke With Expensive Taste.

Mike WiLL Made It has become the go-to guy for everyone from Juicy J (“Bandz a Make Her Dance”) to Miley Cyrus (“We Can’t Stop”), and he’s not slowing down. During the 26th Annual ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards in Beverly Hills, the super-producer spoke about some of his latest projects.
He had the honor of working with Jay-Z for Magna Carta Holy Grail. “We worked on a couple things. It was real quick. We just did it effortless. That’s what he wanted to do,” Mike told Rap-Up TV. “We made sure we did the effortless effect. We worked up a couple crazy things, so hopefully I’ll make the cut.”
He was also recently in the studio with Mariah Carey and Young Jeezy, but wouldn’t reveal what they were recording (possibly a remix to “#Beautiful”?). “It’ll come out soon,” he said of their collaboration.
Expect to hear more from Mike on Miley Cyrus’ upcoming album. “She’s like working with a rapper,” he told Rap-Up TV of the 20-year-old pop star. “She cool, she down-to-earth, she a real person.”
Miley, Juicy, and Wiz Khalifa appear on “23,” the first single off Mike’s upcoming album Est. in 1989, Pt. 3.
After several delays, Jay Sean has unveiled the cover and tracklisting for his fourth album Neon. Due July 30, the 14-track follow-up to 2009’s All or Nothing includes the singles “Where You Are” and the Rick Ross-assisted “Mars,” plus appearances from Ace Hood (“All on Your Body”) and Busta Rhymes (“Break of Dawn”).
“The album is the best piece of work I’ve done to date, without a doubt in the last 10 years,” the Cash Money crooner told Rap-Up TV. “This album is a mixture of R&B, of pop, of some rock influence as well, of hip-hop influence. It’s just all of the great genres that I love and I grew up on in one. The songwriting and production on this album is superb. It really took us a long time to get it right, but I’m so proud of it.”

Foxy Brown got turnt up—and down—during NYC Pride. While debuting her new single “Bandz Up” at El Morocco on Friday night, the Brooklyn rap diva fell fast and hard on stage.
Before she could even get through the first verse, she stepped back and took a tumble as the crowd gasped. Her crew rushed in to pick her up and walked her off stage (thankfully she was OK), but the embarrassing moment was captured on camera for all to see.

B.o.B took over a quiet neighborhood in ATL while shooting a video for his single “HeadBand.” Directed by Ryan Patrick, the clip features lots of twerking ladies and some under-leg camera angles inspired by choreographer Busby Berkeley. Bobby Ray performed on the front porch of a house and 2 Chainz joined him for a barbecue on the lawn.
His third album Underground Luxury is due later this summer. “This project is a lot more effortless than anything because I’ve really shown the full spectrum of what I can do musically, so now I’m just having fun with it. I’m 24 years old, so I’m partying,” B.o.B told Rap-Up TV.

Beyoncé kicked off the North American leg of her “Mrs. Carter Show World Tour” at the Staples Center in L.A. on Friday as part of the inaugural BET Experience. Following opening act Melanie Fiona, the superstar singer hit the stage shortly before 9 p.m., delivering a tour de force.
The star-studded crowd included Katy Perry, Kobe Bryant, Maria Shriver, Jesse Jackson, and her fellow Destiny’s Child divas Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, who she shouted out during the show.
She opened with her female anthem “Run the World (Girls)” before marching into “End of Time.” She covered Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” and took it back to her DC days with “Survivor.” While her new song “Standing on the Sun” was left out of the set, she did perform “Grown Woman.”
“What an incredible show! #Mrs.CarterRockedthehouse! so proud of MY B!!!!” tweeted Kelly, while Katy Perry raved, “I am BOWing down right now! #stanningforB.”

The Gifted MC dedicates his sweet verse to a special lady. “Behind every good man lies a good woman,” he raps over the reworked beat.
Luke’s debut Made to Love is due this fall on N.A.R.S. Records/Island Def Jam.
Swizz Beatz’ art will soon be hanging from the walls of Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s house. The Roc Nation mogul has purchased a Mercedes-Benz hood that Swizz adorned with Jean-Michel Basquiat’s face. He dubbed the piece “Holy Grail” and dedicated it to Hov. Proceeds from the sale will be donated to art schools.
“Look who purchased my Basquiat on Benz Hood 2day,” tweeted Swizz. “what a honor and Blessing I’m so grateful for the support! July 4 its Showtime ART LIFE!!! I will use proceeds to continue helping kids in need.”
The piece is 1/50 car hoods he plans to create for his art exhibit. The super-producer also designed a Porsche hood with Muhammad Ali’s face, which fetched $24,000 at auction.

Mariah Carey celebrated the nation’s 237th birthday with a bang. The pop diva lit up the stage while taping the “Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular” in New York on Thursday, changing several times throughout the evening.
She modeled a flowing red dress and sparkly black number while singing for her fans at Liberty State Park. After changing into a more casual ensemble, she lounged on bales of hay and dueted with Miguel on their hit “#Beautiful.”
Hosted by her husband Nick Cannon, the two-hour show will air on Thursday, July 4, from 8-10 p.m.
Mariah will also perform with the New York Philharmonic at the 2013 MLB All-Star Charity Concert benefiting Sandy Relief on July 13 in Central Park.

Luke James is packing his bags and heading back on the road with Beyoncé. The pop superstar has once again chosen the rising R&B star to open for her on the U.S. and Canadian leg of “The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour.”
Following the European trek, the Grammy-nominated singer will re-join Beyoncé on tour beginning June 29 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas through August 5 at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, with the exception of Dallas.
James previously toured with Beyoncé on the European leg of her world tour, which included stops in Paris, London, Munich, Milan, Dublin, and Manchester.
“I am so honored and humbled that Beyoncé personally chose me to share the stage with her again,” said James. “Being on tour overseas with Beyoncé was magical! I learned so much from her in Europe. Her artistry, professionalism and work ethic are incomparable. She and Jay-Z gave me great advice about perfecting my live show and connecting with the audience. I am really looking forward to bringing that same energy and performance that I delivered overseas to the U.S. audience.”
Beyoncé welcomed him back on the road. “Luke James is pure talent,” she said. “He is a gifted singer and songwriter. I am excited to have him continue on the tour.”

As he gets closer to his album release, Jay-Z breaks down yet another song off his album Magna Carta Holy Grail, available to Samsung Mobile users on July 4. He raps about fatherhood and his own father’s absence on “Jay-Z Blue (Daddy Dearest),” inspired by his daughter Blue Ivy.
“It’s something that we both created,” he says of his child with Beyoncé. “We still marvel at her. It’s most obvious on a song called ‘Jay-Z Blue,’ and it deals with my pop left when I was young so he didn’t teach me how to be a man nor how to raise a child or treat a woman. So of course, with my karma, the two things I needed I don’t have and I have a daughter. It’s the paranoia of not being a great dad.”
He will perform atop the Ed Sullivan Theater marquee in New York for “The Late Show with David Letterman” on July 8. He was granted special permission from the mayor for the rooftop set.

Kendrick Lamar was honored with the Vanguard Award at the 26th Annual ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards in Beverly Hills last night. Dr. Dre presented his Compton protégé with the award, which has been given to the Beastie Boys, Janelle Monáe, and Santigold in the past.
“Kendrick Lamar is a class act,” said Dre as he took the podium at the Beverly Hilton. “I’m proud to know him. I’m proud to work with him and he is an important part of the new generation of hip-hop, and it’s definitely continuing the legacy of Compton.”
The T.D.E. rapper made his way to the stage in a red hoodie to accept his award and pose for photos with his mentor.

Vinny Guadagnino has played host to Ciara, A$AP Rocky, and Lil Wayne on his MTV show “The Show with Vinny.” On last night’s episode, Iggy Azalea showed up to his New Jersey house. The rapper-model was introduced to his family and participated in a pizza eating contest. In return, she had Vinny taste some of her favorite Australian snack, Vegemite.
They sat down in his dining room to discuss her upbringing in Australia and whether she likes mama’s boys like Vinny. “I like men that like their mothers, but I don’t know about living with them,” she said.
The two went under the table (prompted by a question Iggy didn’t like) to finish their interview and she planted a kiss on Vinny’s cheek as they posed for a photo.
The “Jersey Shore” star later met up with Tyler, the Creator and a couple Odd Future members at an Italian restaurant. After chowing down on some food, Tyler pranked Vinny’s sister, making her think he was having an allergic reaction.
