“For the price of fame, what would you do to have them say your name?” asks Wale in the video for “Golden Salvation,” a cut off his album The Gifted. The MMG rapper, whose Tiara Thomas-assisted single “Bad” was recently certified platinum, weighs the tragic cost of fame while showing how far people will go for a Jesus piece.
“The message in this video is clear as day,” said Wale. “Had it been released when ‘fans’ cared bout creative music and story telling. It would have challenged listeners.. But we live in a time where ppl have selective hearing.”
He is currently on the road with J. Cole on the “What Dreams May Come” tour, which wraps on Oct. 30 in Seattle.
