Ellen DeGeneres Honors Kanye West with Rap

In celebration of her birthday, Kanye West paid a visit to his friend Ellen DeGeneres on Thursday. In addition to premiering the Spike Jonze-directed video for “Only One” starring his daughter North, the hip-hop mogul sat down to discuss his adidas deal, expanding his family with Kim Kardashian West, and his new album, which is still untitled.

Ellen also honored Kanye with her very own rap, which she taped for BET Honors. Damon Dash presented Yeezy with the Visionary Award at the ceremony in Washington, D.C. over the weekend.

As part of her tribute, Ellen decided to perform a “white girl’s rap,” where she praised ‘Ye for being one-of-a-kind and a visionary.

“I wish you could see what he shows to me—kindness, brilliance, true artistry,” she rapped.

Ellen was nervous at first, but Kanye loved her rhymes. “It was really awesome. It was very stuntastic when it showed at the awards,” he told her, adding, “That was one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for me.”
