August Alsina Sheds Tears, Macklemore Marches for Mike Brown

Macklemore

The grand jury’s decision not to file any criminal charges against Darren Wilson, the Ferguson police officer who killed unarmed teen Michael Brown, sent shockwaves throughout the country. The hip-hop community including Diddy, The Game, and Big Sean cried out for justice on social media, B.o.B called for a Black Friday boycott, and Macklemore marched in the streets of Seattle.

The “Thrift Shop” rapper joined demonstrators as he walked with his hands in the air and declared, “Don’t shoot!”

“Solidarity. It’s about Mike Brown. It’s not about me,” he told a reporter.

During his show with Usher in San Jose on Monday night, August Alsina took a moment of silence and fought back tears while addressing the crowd.

“I’m emotional ’cause I could’ve been that ni**a that they killed,” said a distraught August.
